Valerie's Custom Creations is decades in the making. Being creative is something that I have been blessed with and have worked to cultivate throughout my life (through years of raising children and teaching in public schools). As a child, I can remember making Barbie furniture out of egg cartons. In elementary school, I won two-second place ribbons in an art contest. I took art classes in junior high, middle school, and college. In high school, my creativity manifested itself in performance through marching and concert band, Flags (Color Guard) and drama. I continued performance in college with the Color Guard and even started working as an instructor with a nearby high school. Instead of becoming an art teacher, I became a Color Guard Director, a Government teacher, and later a U.S. History teacher.  

 

My years as a public school teacher saw an explosion of creative energy in my role as Color Guard Director, then Step Team Director, and finally as Cheer Coach. I also started creating items for my classrooms, such as a mural, window covers and decorated stools. 

As my children were growing up, I would create costumes, clothes, and "spirit" gifts, along with putting together the PTA newsletter and painting backdrops for school dances. Now that my children have grown up, I'm creating custom items for you. Please, enjoy looking through the artwork I have created. Purchase a piece or two, or fill out an Order Request form.
